The Mountain Empire Community College Foundation will present a special evening of music with the Jeff Little Trio as part of its fundraising event for the Dickenson County Endowed Scholarship.
This special fundraising event will be held Wednesday, November 12 at 6 p.m. at the Jettie Baker Center in Clintwood. Patrons will be treated to a reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres at 6:00 p.m., followed by the concert.
The Jeff Little Trio includes Steve Lewis, Josh Scott, and Jeff Little. Lewis, an award-winning guitarist and two-time national five-string-banjo champion, is one of the most respected acoustic musicians in the country. Scott is an upright bass master and has been featured on stage and in the studio with many critically acclaimed artists of acoustic and Americana music. Little, a professional musician since the age of 14, is conversant with old-time, country, bluegrass, rockabilly and blues. He has performed at the National Folk Festival, The Smithsonian, the National Council for the Traditional Arts, the American Piano Masters Series and on National Public Radio.
National Public Radio states, “Jeff Little is a remarkable musician, steeped in the tradition of his native Blue Ridge, yet also a virtuosic and eclectic innovator.”
